Etsy charges: a $0.20 listing fee per item, a 6.5% transaction fee on item price + shipping, a 3% + $0.25 payment processing fee via Etsy Payments, and optionally 12–15% for Offsite Ads when a sale results from an Etsy-placed ad on Google or social media.
Etsy advertises your listings on Google, Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest through Offsite Ads. If a sale results, Etsy charges 15% (sellers under $10k/year) or 12% (sellers over $10k/year) on the order total. Sellers under $10k can opt out; those over $10k cannot.
The 6.5% transaction fee applies to both the item price AND the shipping amount you charge the buyer. So if you charge $30 for an item and $7 for shipping, the transaction fee is 6.5% × $37 = $2.41.
Offer free shipping (but build it into price) to simplify fee calculation. Use Etsy Plus or other bundles if you list frequently. Keep pricing competitive but account for the ~14–20% total fee burden when setting prices.
